Do you only work with eating disorders?

I primarily work with clients with eating disorders. Yet, I have experience and enjoy working with clients in pursuit of gut, hormonal, and cardiovascular health, clients with prediabetes and diabetes, and those working to improve bone density. I also enjoy counseling new parents balancing nutrition for themselves and their families.

Do you take insurance?

I currently do not accept insurance. Yet, depending on your insurance provider and out-of-network benefits, you may receive reimbursement for nutrition services. I will provide you with a superbill that you may submit directly to your insurance provider. I cannot guarantee the coverage of your insurance benefits or reimbursement.

If you call your insurance provider to inquire about receiving reimbursement for nutrition services, it may be helpful to ask these questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for nutrition services provided by a Registered Dietitian?

  • Does my plan cover CPT codes 97802, 97803, 97804?

  • Which nutrition-related diagnostic codes does my plan cover?

  • Does my plan cover telehealth services?

  • What percentage of the service fee should I expect to be reimbursed for?

  • Is pre-authorization required to submit a claim?

  • How much of the deductible have I met?

What are your service fees?

Service fees are discussed during the complimentary exploratory call.

Are you offering in-person appointments?

Keeping the health and safety of my clients as a priority due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am currently offering exclusively telehealth or virtual appointments.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, I have a two business day cancellation policy. Please call 832-766-4420 and leave a voicemail or email lisa@lisamikusrd.com to cancel your appointment. If you do not cancel outside of the two business day policy, you will be charged for the session. If you need to reschedule your appointment, I will do my best to find a time that works for both of us within the same week of the original appointment.
